Active Shooter Policy Issued

The Office of Emergency Services County EMS Coordinator has issued an Active Shooter/Hostile Incident Response policy.  Developed by CPHM Operations Director Pat Bornt in concert with the Saratoga County EMS Council, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department and other local law enforcement agencies, the policy outlines the operational configuration and response plan for major violent incidents in Saratoga County.  EMS agencies have been training members in Rescue Task Force operations using the ALERRT and DHSES courses and, later this year, all ambulances will be equipped with Active Shooter kits provided under a grant from NYS Senator Kathy Marchione.  OES will also distribute go bags for use in ambulance response to incidents with significant numbers of seriously wounded patients where trained civilians need access to hemorrhage control or airway supplies.

Dispatch Change – Bravo Responses

Effective March 1, 2019, Bravo calls will be dispatched as Priority 2 responses.  This will coincide with the “go-live” of the new TriTech CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system.  Click here for a copy of the memo issued by County EMS Coordinator Mike McEvoy describing the change and the reasons why it is being implemented.
